Our People

Our People

Investing in our people, inspiring progress, and building a stronger future together.

Our commitment to our people focuses on creating meaningful employment and career opportunities for everybody. For example, just some of our initiatives include supporting veterans and service families to find careers post service, we develop apprentices and support NEETs (those not in education, employment and training), and help individuals from a multitude of diverse backgrounds to build rewarding careers. Through investment in training, development and wellbeing, we aim to create a workplace where everyone can thrive while contributing to the social value we create in the communities we serve.

We welcome individuals to our team who are team-focused, driven, and committed to delivering work to the highest standards. Once on board, we aim to provide an exceptional career experience in a secure, supportive, and friendly environment. It is important to us that our people feel appreciated, heard, and secure being themselves. If we go the extra mile for our people, we believe they will go the extra mile for our customers.

Gaining employment and finding a career you love is life changing. It promotes positive mental health and provides greater life chances, not only to you as an individual, but to your family, and future generations. In order that we can contribute towards enhancing social mobility, our People Strategy focuses on developing employment and skills pathways through a focus on several key areas:

Hidden Talent

At Hire Safe Solutions, we recognise that talented individuals can come from a wide variety of different backgrounds and that not everyone has equal access to employment opportunities. We are committed to creating pathways into work for people who may face additional barriers to employment, ensuring that ability, potential, and determination are recognised and appreciated.

We are passionate about supporting people who are finding it difficult to secure meaningful employment; especially young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET); care leavers; and others who face challenges entering or returning to the workplace. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to build a fulfilling career, and that diverse experiences and perspectives are what make our business stronger.

By opening our doors to hidden talent, we are helping to create a more inclusive workforce while addressing skills shortages within our industry. We are committed to providing support, training, mentoring, and development opportunities that enable individuals to build confidence, gain valuable experience, and achieve long-term employment.

Apprentices

We believe that investing in early careers is essential, not just to the future of our business but to the powered access industry and wider construction sector as a whole. We are committed to supporting the next generation of talent by providing meaningful apprenticeship opportunities across both our powered access operations and business support functions.

We are currently developing and enhancing our apprenticeship frameworks to ensure every apprentice receives the best possible experience, with structured learning, dedicated support, and clear career progression. Our aim is to create an environment where apprentices can build confidence, develop valuable skills, and gain hands-on experience while working alongside knowledgeable and experienced colleagues.

We are passionate about attracting new talent into our industry and helping individuals build rewarding, long-term careers. We strongly believe that if we nurture potential from the very beginning, we will not only support personal development but also strengthen the future of our workforce. We are excited to watch our apprentices grow, develop, and become the next generation of professionals within Hire Safe Solutions.

Veterans and Service Families

We recognise and encourage the exceptional transferable skills that members of the wider military family bring to the workplace. We are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant and are proud to have achieved our Bronze Employer Recognition Award for our support in this area so far.

We are now working towards our Silver Award, supporting Veterans, Reservists, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, Cadets and Service Families – both in our employment and in our communities.

We are proud to partner with a number of military focused VCSEs (voluntary, community social enterprises). Our partners are experts at delivering employment, entrepreneurship, mental health and mentorship initiatives, as well as fundraising activities which we encourage all our employees to get involved with.

Creating Pathways to Employment for Care Leavers

We work with and support community partners who specialise in working with care-experienced young people, ensuring they are offered all the relevant support required, especially at challenging times in their journey.

As part of our strategy, we aim to become a signatory to the Care Leaver Covenant in 2027. The Care Leaver Covenant is a national initiative that encourages organisations to provide practical support to young people leaving care as they transition into independent adult life.

Through this commitment, we intend to offer opportunities that may include work experience, employment pathways, mentoring, training, and career development, helping care leavers access sustainable employment and realise their full potential.
