Urmston Grammar School offers a comprehensive Careers Programme which aims for students to develop positive attitudes towards study and work. It aims to help students to evaluate their own strengths and to build on their own areas for development, and fully engage in career planning.
The Careers Team reached out to us to see if our Head of Sustainability & Social Impact could come and deliver mock interview practice with two of their Year 10 Sociology students. The idea of this was to match employers to students with a specific passion to help them understand some of the opportunities that are available in the world of work, and to help them understand how they can develop the skills that are required to be successful in their future careers pathway.
The session itself went really well, with some fantastic conversations that will hopefully lead to a renewed passion for a career in this exciting and very important area. We hope to continue our skills and employability support to young people in the Trafford area as construction and infrastructure works ramp up over the coming years.
